Burnt Orange
RESTAURANT BRANDING, BRIGHTON, U.K.
Burnt Orange is a concept by Brighton restaurateur Razak Helalat, the fourth in his existing portfolio of award-winning restaurants in Brighton and London.
Located in the centre of Brighton, Burnt Orange is a sociable and relaxed environment where diners can enjoy high-quality, Mediterranean-influenced small plates alongside fine cocktails and drinks. It’s a great place to lose an afternoon
(and an evening) with friends.
In 2023 Burnt Orange was awarded with the Michelin Bib Gourmand

Good Noise were approached to design the brand identity and supporting assets, including exterior signage, menus, print and tableware.
We also contributed to a series of strategic workshops with the team’s in-house marketing specialists to clearly define the brand position, DNA and personality at the start of the process.

The name Burnt Orange refers to a finishing technique in cocktail making, which subtlety enhances the flavour of the drink. It was this subtle ‘twist’ that we wanted to convey in the finish of the collateral – like a twinkle in the eye.

We combined bespoke leather menu covers with a touch of rose gold foiling with high-quality paper stocks. The rose gold touches carried across bill trays and bespoke drinks coasters, giving a premium finish.
In early 2022 Burnt Orange was awarded a
Michelin Bib Gourmand.

The original wrought iron archway to the entrance of the leafy courtyard gave us a great opportunity to do something unique and memorable with the signage.
We chose the words ‘right here right now’ - a phrase synonymous with Brighton and a fitting tribute to the legendary Brighton record label: Skint Records (home to Fatboy Slim, amongst many others), whose offices were based at the same address. Fortunately, he approved of this idea and also put together a playlist for the restaurant.
We also designed a projecting sign with an ‘orange’ silhouette cut from Corten steel to complement the exterior design elements.
