City Arts Bar
LATE NIGHT COCKTAIL BAR BRANDING, LONDON, U.K.
City Arts Bar London is a late night cocktail bar for those in the know located on Ironmonger Lane in the heart of the City.
The bar is the second of it’s kind in London - building on the success of the established Bermondsey Arts club
Good Noise were approached to create a full brand identity suite and applications including exterior and interior signage, print stationery: menus and business cards and promotional ephemera. We also worked on the brand strategy, researching competition and identifying the core demographic as well as defining the Brands DNA.
City Arts was defined as a place with no rules and no nonsense drinks. A late night establishment for independent thinkers and intimate meetings for those in the know.
For the City Arts identity, we combined a simple geometric logo with a deep ‘Erbu’ style pattern, this fit perfectly with the moody Mid-Century interior. We also made several variations of the logo that could be be used interchangeably, making the identity less serious and more dynamic.
We applied this across a range of applications including menu covers and bespoke playing cards.
The final result for the look and feel was loose and independent, whilst still maintaining a sense of establishment.
The original inspiration for City Arts in interior design took inspiration from the clients visits to the US and the decadent bars and restaurants they found in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. The space tastefully blends Mid-Century and 1970’s style, with raw finishes, creating a space that feels equally accessible and decadent.
Marketing agency Oru creative incorporated our identity into a series of heavily stylised videos for social media inspired by the 70’s aesthetic with a layer of of late night decadence, blurring the lines between today and tomorrow.
